The Markus Waldmüller stable had a successful fall season where the horses showed good form and won many races.
In V86® at his home track this Wednesday, the Jägersro trainer races three horses — and he believes all three have good chances.
"I have three nice horses who are in top form and who have performed well lately. It looks interesting and it feels like Frankie Godiva is due for a win again," says Waldmüller.
Jägersro and Solvalla share the Wednesday V86® Xpress. Racing at the former track is Markus Waldmüller, who took over the training duties after his cousin Conrad Lugauer, when he moved to Stockholm to train for Menhammar. As of today, Waldmüller trains 76 horses and many of them showed good form this past fall with good result and many wins.
"Things have been good the last three, four months. I also have many nice younger horses who are up-and-coming, so it looks good for the future. After I took over six months ago, the results have been good. It looks exciting for next year in several areas," says Markus Waldmüller.
The German native starts three horses on the V86 card this Wednesday evening and all three are in good form, have good post positions and will be heavily used on the V86 tickets. Here are Waldmüller's thoughts on his starters:
"5 Fallsfromthefalls (V86-1) have been good in all his starts this past fall. Last time out, he showed what a great attitude he has when he sat last and rounded the entire field to win. It was a great effort and he managed to win with shoes all around, after having raced barefoot all summer and fall. He steps up in class now but he can leave fast and with a good trip, he can win the race. I think he should be viewed as a winning candidate. Pull-down bridle and a regular sulky again," says Markus Waldmüller.
"The inside post is the best possible — I think she can win"
"1 MadisonSquare Kiss (V86-3) started her racing career with two straight wins this past fall and she has raced well after that too, even if she hasn't won. When she finished third in her most recent start, she had to do a lot of the work herself in the race. She closed well and got beat shortly before the finish line. Two starts ago, she also raced well when she finished fifth after being parked out. The inside post is the best possible post for her and with that last start in her legs, I think she can win. Now, she has a perfect post and I have some hopes. No changes, she has raced with shoes in all her starts".
"Feels like he is due for a win"
"2 Frankie Godiva (V86-5) had to be used hard before I got to the lead in his last start. It cost him the win, but had the horse that beat us in the passing lane not gotten in behind us in the last turn, he would have held on. But that's racing and this time there's no passing lane. My horse raced well and was a very good second and he's in top form now with three starts in his legs. He has raced well but hasn't won, and two starts ago in Kalmar, he got an impossible trip. It feels like he is due for a win again and it could come here. He has a good post and can leave fast. My horse always races with shoes, and no other changes," says Markus Waldmüller.
Who would you say is your best chance?
"All three can win, but MadisonSquare Kiss and Frankie Godiva have a little bit better chances. Fallsfromthe falls needs a trip to win".
