V86®: Seeking quick revenge

N.Y.Moet failed in her last start at Åby.
On Wednesday, as half of the V86® card is raced at Bjerke, she seeks revenge.
"She doesn't race well in Sweden. Now we are at our home track and she is a winning candidate," says trainer Jens Kristian Brenne.

Half of the legs of V86 are coming to us this Wednesday from Bjerke Racetrack in Norway. Jens Kristian Brenne, 39 makes the trip from Momarken in Mysen, right between Oslo and the Swedish border. Brenne had a strong 2023 and the start of this year has been good with a winning percentage of around 40.
"It has gone very well and of course, I hope it will continue like this, but I know it will be tougher going forward. The races start to get tougher and the good horses are getting their season started. I have a few horses in my stable that I think will do well," says Jens Kristian Brenne.

Likes it better at home
He brings two starters to Bjerke and his best chance is 1 N.Y.Moet (V86-5) who last raced at Åby but came up flat.
"Yes, she was no good at all, she didn't have her best day. She has raced just as poorly in Sweden before. Here at home, she ships without any problem, but she usually has company on the truck. I think the reason is that she gets nervous by herself. Next time we go to Sweden, we will bring another horse to keep her company".
How does she train after her last start?
"She feels great. N.Y.Moet was very good in her seasonal debut, so her effort last time out was surprising".
N.Y.Moet is fast behind the gate, do you want her raced in the lead?
"That is up to the driver to decide, but she races well both in the lead and from behind".
She will be heavily used on V86, do you think the bettors are correct?
"Yes, I think so even if you get a bit worried when a horse comes off a not-so-good effort, but I'm sure of the reason and she should go on the ticket. There's no lack of opponents though, I have lots of respect for Bunny who impressed me in her last start".

Needs some luck
Jens Kristian also has some hopes for 2 Hush (V86-7) who comes off a win.
"It was a pretty cheap race, but the horse was good and won easily from the lead. The owner trains the horse himself at times, and then he comes into my stable, which he did after his last start. He feels good and is obviously in good form".
He left fast last time out, is the plan to race him in the lead again?
"I'm not so sure. 1 The One is also fast and he's a good horse who probably will be raced in the lead. I hope that Hush can get a good trip, I would love to see him sit behind The One".
What do you think of his chances?
"He can win, but he needs some luck. His last start was in a short distance race and this time it's 2,100 meters, which is no advantage even he can handle it, and there are a couple of good opponents in the race too".
Finally, how is your coldblood star Brenne Odin doing?
"Right now, he's not doing so well. He has trained well all winter, but he hasn't raced well at all these last two starts. We have to keep working on that and hope that we can find out why. If we do, I think he has several more years in the elite ahead of himself".
