V86®: "Nimbus C.D. felt great in his last start - even sharper now"

Nimbus C.D. is back again.
The horse co-owned by ex hockey pro Mats Sundin was locked in with plenty left in his last start and this time he's a bit of a longshot on V86®.
"He felt great last time and should be even shaper now. He's definitely coming back into form again" says trainer Peter G Norman, who has one more interesting starter on V86.

This Wedensday's V86 is split between Åby and Solvalla. In the last leg at our capital's track several catapult starters will square off over 1,640 meters. Inti Boko, Disco Volante and Nimbus C.D. will start from post position five, six and seven and the latter of the three is definitely on his way back to top form after having been sick. The charismatic ten year old chestnut gelding was bet down to be one of the favorites on V75 two starts ago, but came up sick.
"7 Nimbus C.D. (V86-8) was very good in Rättvik three starts ago when he crossed the wire with a good bounce in his stride in 1:10.5. There was a lot of talk about him when he raced on V75 in the following start but he was far from his normal self there. He had a virus which took three, four weeks of rest to get rid of. After that he trained as usual and he was good in his last start" says Peter G Norman.
Last time out Nimbus C.D. - co-owned by ex hockey pro Mats Sundin - was locked in and looked loaded across the finish line.
"He had post position 12 in a short distance race and he got a nice trip and got locked in. He felt great and crossed the finish line with plenty left in his tank. It feels like his form is definitely coming back and he has trained some uphill training after that start and everything is well. He feels very good and sound and he hasn't had any issues with his old injury, knock on wood".

"Feels very sharp - American sulky this time"
What are your thoughts on the Wedneday race, V86-8 with post position seven behind the gate?
"He will race well and his form should be a notch better after that last start. He hadn't trained any faster heats before that, he had only trained uphill. It feels like he came out of his last start well. He will need racing luck from this post position but we have to leave a bit and look for a position behind those catapult starters to our inside".
"It would be nice if he could get a good trip this time so we could see where he's at. He feels sharp in training and since he felt so good in his last start, I don't think he's completely without a chance here, with a good trip. He will race barefoot upfront and in an open bridle as usual, but he will race in an American sulky this time as he goes back behind the gate again. He had a regular style sulky in his last start when it was a volt start race" says Norman.

"Looked very good - he should have a chance"
The Solvalla licensed trained has another interesting starter on V86 in Cash Cowboy who starts in V86-6. He was the second most bet horse in the race last time out on V75 but he made a break shortly after the start that time. This time he starts from post position six behind the gate together with Rikard N Skoglund.
"6 Cash Cowboy (V86-6) made a break 100 meters into the race as they were going very fast into the turn. He took a bad step and hit a knee and lost his rhythm. He couldn't get back to trotting again which was a shame since he looked very good and had felt very good in training too before that start".
"The way he feels in training his form is still good and he feels sharp. He has a post position a bit far out on the gate and he needs luck to find a good position. With some racing luck I'm not surprised if he ends up in the photo. He should have a chance to win with a good trip, I think. He will race with shoes and in an American sulky again. The only possible change might be the bridle, but I have to see how he is in the warm up first. He raced with a blind bridle in his last start, but we might change to an open bridle this time" says Peter G Norman.
