Kristian Malmin has two horses in good form – in the same race.
The trainer is hoping that either Sheena's Boy or Delight Classic will find their way to the winner circle at Bjerke.
This week, the time has come for a Swedish/Norwegian V86® card again.
Solvalla shares the Wednesday card with the Norwegian capital track Bjerke. Kristian Malmin makes the short trip south to Oslo from his farm in Hönesfoss with three horses starting on V86. In the fifth leg, the trainer has two starters – and both are among the favorites in the race.
As a matter of fact, 3 Sheena's Boy (V86-5) and 7 Delight Classic (V86-5) have already faced each other several times lately. They did in their last start, also at Bjerke, when Delight Classic caught his stablemate just before the finish line after a lightning-fast finishing speed.
"Yes, Delight Classic was very good last time out, but he drew pretty far out behind the gate this time. A high tempo would benefit him, that's the type of race he likes best when they set a high pace and he can use his closing speed" says Kristian and adds:
"He's in good form and with the right trip, he will beat many down the stretch. He will race with shoes behind again, but he has raced well many times like that so it shouldn't affect him much".
How about the quick leaver Sheena's Boy, can he get his revenge this time?
"Sheena's Boy finished second in the race that Deligh Classic won last time out and he almost lead the entire way. He has a very quick turn of foot and if he can get to the lead, he might stay there until the finish line, so he should have a pretty good chance to win, too".
Which one of your two starters would you say has the best chance to win?
"I would say the form on Wednesday and the trip will decide that, I think they both have good chances of winning".
Comes in with two in a row - has to be considered
Kristian Malmin has one more starter on V86 this Wednesday evening.
11 American Coffee (V86-1) comes out already in the first leg and she should not be ignored by the bettors. The five-year-old mare is indeed in top form and she comes in with two straight wins in impressive style. This time, she was unlucky in the draw, though.
"She is on her way up. She is actually a pretty good mare, who has had some issues with sickness and such. She has trained well for a long time and she seems to be in pretty good form".
So the bettors should consider American Coffee too as they put their tickets together?
"We drew poorly here, in the second tier, and she faces tougher opponents than in her previous starts. But she is pretty good too and with some luck along the way, I think she could end up battling for the win here too".
