Robert Dunder starts two horses on V86 this Wednesday.
His horses are in good form now, thanks to perfect training conditions for quite some time.
"Both Timeless Sunset and Ice Cold Kent should go on the ticket," says the Bergsåker licensed trainer.
The solution to last week's V86 was not very difficult and there was no payout for six winners picked, which means there is yet another jackpot this week. A sole winner can take home SEK 20 million.
The card is split between Solvalla and Robert Dunder's home track Bergsåker and he has two starters who are ready to perform well.
"We have had great training conditions this winter, especially the last few weeks. It's been a pleasure training the horses when they feel this strong," says Robert Dunder.
The first horse to race is Timeless Sunset (V86-1) who was a disappointment as the big favorite in his last start.
"You can ignore that start. He is dependent on getting a good hold of the racetrack, but the track was way too loose for him and there wasn't much pace upfront either. He likes a high, even pace".
Are you unsure of his form?
"Absolutely not. Timeless Sunset feels great and I think he will race well and he should go on the ticket. I won't be surprised if he is in the mix, as long the pace is right".
"He is ready"
The 4-year-old Ice Cold Kent (V86-7) closed out last year by winning a V75 race at Umåker on Christmas Day and got rewarded SEK 100,000.
"I was very pleased with him that day and he has come a long way lately. He has trotted with the hand break on and that's why we chose to castrate him. After that, he has been a different horse and he keeps getting better and better".
How did he come out of his last start?
"He came out of it well and he feels good. He hasn't trained all that hard after that start and the plan was to wait another couple of weeks to race him, but he feels so good in training, so I chose to enter him here. He is ready".
What are his best qualities?
"He is versatile, both fast and strong, with the right attitude".
Are you making any changes?
"No, but he has raced with pullout earplugs in his last two starts, but I haven't needed to pull them so I have another gear there to use on him. I know that will do a lot for him".
How do you like your chances to win?
"He has made quite a bit of money lately and he's in tougher each time. At the same time, he gets better and better and he is one of the horses who can win the race".
What does your stable look like going into this year?
"The number of horses has gone down a bit. Times are tough and the owners are getting more careful and don't invest the way they used to. I have some 3-year-olds that I like and I look forward to this year with confidence".
