V86® (jackpot): Hagoort with a hot trio

Paul J P Hagoort presents winners constantly.
On Wednesday, when V86® is shared between Solvalla and Åby he has several chances to win.
"It looks good on paper and I think all three of mine should be considered early" says Hagoort.

Paul J P Hagoort has a very good reputation all over Europe. He rarely races his horses unless they have a chance to win, regardless of the country they race in, and he is also having great success. In his native country, the Netherlands, he is one of the most successful trainers in recent years.
"I have the privilege of getting nice horses sent to me and clients willing to invest in quality. We usually have around 50 to 60 horses in training. We are stabled in the Netherlands which is both positive and negative. The purse money is nothing to get excited about, but at the same time we are pretty close to countries where the money is better, like Sweden and France" says Paul J P Hagoort.

All three have the chance to win
On Wednesday, the Hagoort stable sends out three starters at Solvalla, all on V86®, which is spiced up by a SEK 14 million jackpot. Robin Bakker usually drives, but he is suspended and therefore Hagoort uses Jorma Kontio.
"He is a very good replacement driver. Very few drivers have the experience and hands that he has. I think that all three of the horses he drives have the chance to win".
The first horse to enter the track is 3 Cash Winner (V86-2), who made a break last time out and he has his own way of trotting.
"He is a bit steppy but safe and the break in his last start was a bit surprising. He feels good in training and was good in the start prior to that and it feels like the form is still there".
Can he leave?
"Yes, he can leave, but if it's enough to take a lead or not is hard to say. He is versatile and he can handle any type of trip".
Is he a hot win candidate?
"I think he should be able to win if he just has some racing luck. No changes are planned".
9 Roberts Son B.B. (V86-4, pictured) won as recently as last Wednesday and beat Soundtrack after having led the race from start to finish.
"Yes, that was a nice feeling. He is a horse we have had high hopes for, but he has had some issues along the way. Robin was very pleased with the horse last time out and said he wasn't tired".
How does he handle racing back-to-back weeks?
"He has done that before without any problems. This is a tougher race and you never really know, but Roberts Son B.B. feels good and everything points at another good effort".
In his last start he won from the lead, now the conditions are different. What do you think?
"My horse is versatile and can do some work himself in the race and I don't see any problem with that. He can win again".
The last starter is 1 Noxx Vrijthout (V86-8) who has delivered two strong efforts in both his starts in Sweden.
"Yes, he is good now and has raced super two starts in a row and he feels good in training after that".
Can he take advantage of his post position?
"He can leave well, but I don't know if he can take the lead. Either way, he should get a good trip and if it works out, he should also have a chance to win":
Who is your best chance?
"It's hard to say, I think all my horses should go on the V86 ticket".
