The class climber Four Guys Dream is ready to start his 2023 season.
Trainer Håkan K Persson is hoping for another great season for his star trotter, who now belongs in the gold division.
Jägersro is co-hosting V86 this week together with Solvalla.
Håkan K Persson makes the trip to the country's southernmost racetrack with the star of his stable. 4 Four Guys Dream (V86-1) is ready to make his first start of the year and he comes out already in the first V86® leg.
The now seven-year-old gelding has made a name for himself, especially on V75® the last few years. He won two legs of the silver division in 2022 and he closed out the year by finishing third in the Boxing day finals at Solvalla. He was supposed to have started the 2023 season two weeks ago at home in Halmstad but had to stay home in his stall that day.
"Yes, he came up lame. He was swollen in a front leg so we had to scratch him, but he was fine just a couple of days later" says Håkan K Persson and adds:
"It doesn't feel like he lost any condition because of that. I trained him at the track last Thursday and he felt very good".
Aiming for the top class
So, now the horse who is closing in on SEK 2 million in earnings is fit for fight again. He faces a qualified field in Februaripokalen at Jägersro, where Aetos Kronos is among the opponents.
"It's always tough in this class, but we drew a good post here. I have no idea how fast the other ones can leave or what they plan on doing but my horse is pretty fast out of the gate, so we'll see how it unfolds. I'm pretty sure he will finish top three at least".
Four Guys Dream is now a gold division horse.
What are your plans for the future with him?
"If he feels good and races as well as we hope, his next start will be in the gold division at Romme on February 25. I'm sure he will do well in that class, too".
Even better now
The Persson stable also brings 3 Global Believer (V86-5) to Jägersro.
He is also a horse who has raced frequently on V75 lately. He recently raced in the Class 1 final at Solvalla but got tired after a pocket trip.
"We were pretty satisfied with Global Believer last time out at Solvalla. He had only trained a couple of times before that start, he was treated after the Kalmar start. We thought he was good and sound but he just got tired in the fast finish".
The race on Wednesday looks fitting for the horse who is known as a fast leaver. Post position three behind the gate over the short distance.
"He came out of his last start well and will probably be even better with that in his legs. He has raced on V75 a couple of times and now we have better conditions with a good post over 1,640 meters. He races best on the front end".
