On Thursday, V75® Winter Burst continues to Skive Racetrack, Denmark.
Jeppe Juel feels at home at the Danish track and thinks he has two horses that should not be overlooked on the V75 ticket.
After the first three racecards in Sweden, V75® Winter Burst stops at the Norwegian track Momarken on Wednesday and continues to Denmark on Thursday. To Skive racetrack to be exact. The racetrack on the northwestern part of the island Jylland, right by the southern beach of Limfjorden, might not be very well known to the foreign bettors.
Someone very familiar with the track, though, is Jeppe Juel. The Ålborg licensed trainer is only a short drive away from Skive and he races frequently at the track that measures 950 meters. When asked what the bettors need to think about, one specific detail comes to mind.
"There's a passing lane, that's important to keep in mind. The turns are very sharp, the track used to be shorter but then they added 100 meters to each straightaway, that's why the turns are so sharp" Jeppe says.
The trainer is well-known to Swedish bettors and he has five starters from his stable on the V75® card.
One of the horses he says is among his best chances to win comes out already in the second leg of V75. The 4-year-old gelding 4 Jeantoutstart (V75-2) has an excellent record this year; he has won five of his ten starts and has never been worse than third.
"Jeantoutstart is a good horse who returned to the races last Saturday. He raced OK, but wasn't in top form. With that start in his legs, I think he will be better; I had given him lots of heavy training before that start and he should be improved with some speed in his legs. He can leave fast and he will get a good trip".
If he trots, it's a good chance to win
In the fourth leg, Jeppe Juel will also be heavily used on the V75 tickets.
1 Moses di Quattro (V75-4) another 4-year-old gelding came to the Juel stable from Tomas Malmqvist, where he won three in a row this past summer. He has made four starts for Juel which have resulted in two wins and two breaks.
"He's a very good horse and if he just trots, he should have a good chance to win. The break in his last start was without any reason, he surprises me when he makes those breaks sometimes, he has done that twice now, and of course, it's a warning sign. But, as I said, if he stays flat, he should have a good chance to win. He has a good post position and he can leave fast, we'll get a good trip".
You also have 3 Jamaica (V75-3) racing. What can you tell us about her?
"Jamaica was a huge disappointment to me in her last start. She had no trot at the end. I think we have to focus on a check here and she is nothing for the bettors to worry about".
You have two starters in the last leg. You drive 3 Great Shadow (V75-7) yourself and Knud Mönster sits up behind 8 Hertz (V75-7)?
"Great Shadow won a cheaper race last time out, but he was very good and he got a good tightener. The post position is good, but the sprint distance may not be an advantage. If the tempo is high, maybe a fast beginning, he will be strong in the finish. He's a strong and tough horse who always maintains his speed to the finish line so, he can beat many of them if the tempo is high" says Jeppe and adds the following about the stablemate:
"Hertz hasn't raced in a while and has been scratched twice, just for some smaller things, but he also drew very poorly here. He's a pretty good horse, but we have to hope for a check this time".
So, which horse would you say is your best chance to win on Thursday?
"Moses di Quattro and Jeantoutstart both have good chances to win".
