V75: The demolition worker with four chances at his home track

He works as a demolition worker all day.
In the evening, he takes care of the family's riding school horses.
He also drives trot races, and this Sunday he has four drives on V75 at his home track Kalmar.

Oscar Ginman used to be named Nilsson and was a promising apprentice driver. He won the Swedish Championship for apprentice drivers in 2013. But then he chose to give up his driving career.
"We were starting a family and I felt I had to sacrifice way too many hours. It's a lot of hours with all the traveling and when you live in Kalmar, all the tracks are far away, so I felt that I had to make a change. But I don't know, I think I work more hours now than before" says Oscar Ginman in this week's episode of the podcast 'V75 - lördag hela veckan'.
Nowadays, Oscar works as a demolition worker in the construction business, and on top of that, he runs Furudals Ponnycenter together with his wife Marina. This week is summer camp at the riding school while Oscar is by himself at work. A tough job...
"The last few weeks I've been sanitizing buildings in rubber clothes, rubber gloves, and a face mask, it's been really hot to say the least".
"We are a bunch of idiots who work together, it makes life a lot easier. We do all the shitty jobs that nobody wants to do at the construction sites, so being a good group makes it easier" Oscar says, laughing.

"Needs racing luck"
Besides the demolition work, the ponies, and the regular family life, the Kalmar native still finds time to drive some races. Last year, he won 18 out of 146 starts with earnings of SEK 1.3 million. So far this year, he has won 12 times in 82 starts and almost SEK 800,000 in earnings. As recently as last Wednesday, he won on V86 with A Fair Day (V75-5). The Elisabeth Almheden trained four-year-old is one of four horses that Oscar Ginman drives on the V75 card this Sunday, but the driver is disappointed in the post positions.
"Four horses on V75 felt fantastic until I saw the draw. I don't think the bettors understand how much is determined already on Sunday when the draw is done. It's so important how you draw and I have three horses out of four starting in the second tier and post five with a horse who can't leave very fast, so it was no jackpot".
A Fair Day won his third race of the year in four starts, last week. He then got to the lead after 300 meters. He will most likely not do the same on Sunday when he starts from post 11 behind the gate.
"He is good for this class, he showed that in his last start at Tingsryd. I don't think it matters to him, whether he races in the lead or from behind, he is pretty versatile".
Oscar Ginman thinks that A Fair Day is his best chance out of the four horses he drives, but he doesn't have much hope of winning.
"A lot of things have to work out. We need a high pace upfront and we need luck to find a good spot. There are a lot of things that have to go his way, things that we can't control ourselves".
Oscar is commenting his other three drives as follows:
"Lilo Love (V75-4) could probably make some decent money".
"With Oscar Run (V75-1) I have to try to find a spot. He is in very good form right now, but we need lots of luck and things have to work out perfectly. But he always races very well".
"Spring Waltz (V75-2) is a really nice horse but it will be very, very tough from this post position".
