V75 (jackpot): Persson key driver at his hometrack

He has kick-started the year and is in the spotlight when STL on Saturday comes to his hometrack.
Count on Stefan Persson in the hunt for the jackpot millions on V75.
"If nothing goes wrong and he is healthy, he probably has a very good chance to win" he says about the winning machine Con Crowe, who he also trains.

Three weeks into the new year, Stefan Persson has won 17 out of 91 races and with almost SEK 1.4 million in earnings, he is the leading driver so far in Sweden. This week he races everyday leading up to Saturday where the top driver closes out the week with several good chances to win on V75. Halmstad is hosting the races and many bettors in their hunt for jackpot millions will single Stefan Persson already in the first V75 leg. That is where his horse Con Crowe is chasing his fifth straight win.
"Everything seems to be well with him. He is an extraordinary talented horse" says Stefan Persson in this weeks episode of the podcast 'V75 - lördag hela veckan'.
His five-year-old has two wins in a row since joining the stable back in December. In eleven career starts, he has eight wins. He now starts from post position two behind the gate.
"I have never driven him behind the gate, only in volt start, but I'm sure he can leave fast behind the gate too if I would want him to".
Stefan does not want to sound too sure to win but there are no doubts that he has a lot of faith in his horse.
"Let's not talk about him as if already has won the race, but he trotted 1:11 the last kilometer very easily last time out, so if nothing goes wrong and if he is healthy, he probably has a very good chance to win".

His brother's horse debuts in the gold division
In the gold division Stefan gets to sit up behind his brother Håkan K Persson's best horse. 7 Four Guys Dream (V75-3) makes a very interesting gold division debut. Last time out, he finsihed third in the silver division final, without being at his best.
"He had problems with his throat in his last start. I understood right away when I saw the race that something was wrong, normally he would have won with the trip he got. It will be fun to try him the gold division. He will do fine there".
When asked if Four Guys Dream could win even if he ends up parked outside the leader, Stefan answers:
"Yes, I think so. As long as the tempo is not too high. He can sit first up but not if we go 1:11 the first kilometer, but maybe 1:12.5. When I have won with him, he has felt fantastic".

"Doesn't it look pretty good?"
Stefan Persson has four more drives on V75 and here are his comments from the podcast:
"3 Center Bus (V75-2) is a horse I have driven on V75 before, in Rättvik last summer and I think he got somewhat locked in. He left pretty fast that time. But Frankie Godiva is a very good horse for Class 2. It will be hard to beat him".
"12 Wish Me Magic (V75-4) is a horse I have seen and raced against many times. Doesn't it look pretty good for him since there is only one horse on the starting distance and not that many with the 20 meter handicap? That should benefit us starting 40 meters behind?"
"2 Lilo Love (V75-6) is also a horse I have driven before. She was the big favorite in V75 Champions when Thomas Madsen trained her. She did not race good at all theat time and I haven't seen her since. But it will be fun to drive her again, we have to take revenge for last time. She seems to have made it back nicely now".
"9 Behind Bars (V75-7) is a fun drive. He raced extremely well and beat Four Guys Dream in the final at Solvalla. I don't know what happened with him last time, but it's always fun to drive a nice horse like him, of course".
