On Saturday, Oskar J Andersson makes the five-hour long trip to Momarken to race three horses on V75®.
"I look forward to racing Readly Lavec in the gold division" says the Sundbyholm licensed trainer.
Oskar J Andersson usually keeps a high winning percentage and the year has started off well. The stable wins in almost every fifth start and a look at the stable roster indicates a bright future.
"I think we have started off the year well and the horses have made good money. We have 15 three-year-olds and 18 two-year-olds, so we have a reason to be optimistic about the future even if I would like to have a few more good racehorses" says Oskar J Andersson.
"Feels very good in training"
On Saturday, the second V75 win of the year can come for the stable. Oskar J Andersson has three starters, and the star of the stable so far 4 Readly Lavec (V75-6) makes an interesting gold division debut. This is the first start back since coming back from a successful adventure in France, where the horse won one of his three starts.
"I am very pleased with what he has done in France. But in the last start there, pretty much everything went wrong. We got hung out three-wide and the tempo was high, and I had to keep going until I ended up first up. Readly Lavec wanted to race the others the entire race and he was tired when we got to the home stretch".
How did he come out of that adventure?
"He came out of it well. He feels very good in training and he trains well. I think he is still developing and this race comes at a perfect time, and I expect a good effort".
What do you think of his chances?
"We drew outside of Stoletheshow and I doubt we can get past him out of the gate and he is also tough to beat when he's on the front. Now, Stoletheshow makes his first start of the year and Readly Lavec has been racing and that's an advantage. I don't feel chanceless, that's for sure".
Hoping to race on the Elitlopp weekend
6 Infinity Sisu (V75-5), who was not far behind the best four-year-old mares last year makes an interesting seasonal debut.
"She closed brilliantly when she finished second behind Lara Boko in the Breeders Crown semifinal for the four-year-old mares. I think she is a good mare who hasn't made enough money to match her talent. This race might come a little early in the season, but the final is on the Elitlopp weekend and we hope to race her there".
How is she prepared?
"She has gotten a lot of training but no fast heats. She hasn't seen a racetrack at all and I'm a bit unsure of her form, but she feels very good".
Can she have a chance to win despite not having raced for so long?
"I think she is good for her class and she should have a chance even though this is her first start back".
Lastly, what are your hopes for 5 Spitfire P.C. (V75-2)?
"I was very pleased with his effort at Örebro a while ago but after that, he hasn't reached the same level. I think he was a little bit better last time out and it feels like he could be getting back into good form. The race is tough and I'm happy if he could be third or fourth".
