V75®: Brother Bill hottest chance for Nurmos in the finals
Swedish Trotting League finals at Solvalla.
Then you can always count on Timo Nurmos.
"Brother Bill feels like the hottest chance from our stable" says Andreas Lövdal in the stable about this Saturday's V75 card.
Brother Bill lost as the huge favorite in his last start in the gold division. But that was because he was locked in along the pylons. Once he finally got loose, he absolutely exploded and sprinted to a third place finish.
"The way he closed the last 150 meters last time was a perfect setup for this start, so he feels like our best chance" says Andreas Lövdal in the podcast 'V75 - lördag hela veckan', when he was asked to go through the stable's starters for this Saturday's V75 card.
Can challenge the favorite in the Mares Elite
The European champion mare Honey Mearas will be the favorite in the Mares Elite. Post position eleven could mean trouble for her and Andreas Lövdal sounds positive about 2 Hoboken Am (V75-1), from a much better post position.
"It was great to see how good she looked last time out. She raced great and closed very well in between horses after getting out late. She has felt great in training, both before and after that start. She drew post position two and I think it looks interesting. She is good".
Advantage Ivanka
In the final of Diamantstoet, 13 Ivanka Amok (V75-4) is chasing her sixth consecutive win. Among the opponents is her stable mate 9 Miss Imperatrice.
"Ivanka is like a tank and I don't think Miss Imperatrice can beat her. But I'm not saying that nobody can beat her. She has a 20-meter handicap against some good mares and the one who beat Miss Imperatrice last time out (Katherine S.H.) was very good. But Ivanka has been fantastic".
Tough in silver
11 Amalencius B.B. (V75-5) was impressive when he after a strong closing speed won a long-distance race in his last start. This time, post eleven lowers the expectations.
"He is in against some very good horses and it will be tough for him to win. He's not totally chanceless, but he will need lots of luck" says Lövdal, who is much more positive regarding 9 Aragorn As (V75-6) in the bronze division.
"He won easily in his last start. He looked great. You have to remember that it was a much easier field than this, but he's a very nice horse in good form who isn't chanceless either. He should get a good trip from post nine and he is one of several horses who can win the race, I think".
Class I closes out the card and Team Nurmos has two horses in the race.
"2 John King Boko (V75-7) was a bit soft in his last start, but he had missed some training and he missed the last sharpening workout we usually give them before a start. I think he lacked some form because of that and I hope he will be better this time. He can do a lot better than he did in his last start".
"6 Express Love (V75-7) is hard to read before a race. He has felt great when things have worked out for him but he needs luck, and to find a spot somewhere and get a good trip".
