V75® (Boxing Day): Very Kronos chasing third win in three weeks

Very Kronos is back. After a longer layoff, he has won two races in a short period of time.
When Solvalla traditionally arranges V75® on Boxing Day, the top trotter is put to the test.

V75® will be something to follow again this holiday season.
Eight race cards will be held starting the night before Christmas Eve and culminating on New Year's Eve. The Christmas highlight is without a doubt the STL finals at Solvalla on Boxing Day. The national arena offers high-class racing and the feature is the gold division final, Gert Lindbergs race.
Here, we once again get to see one of the best trotters in the country, 2 Very Kronos (V75-3). He made two starts back in the spring this year, but without any success and it took seven months before he returned to the racetracks.
"We didn't really find anything wrong with him. So we took him down to France and went over him thoroughly. We finally found a couple of things that were treated, both in a hock and in his back, and after that the horse had some down time" says trainer Svante Båth about the long layoff.
But everything is fine with the horse now?
"We will go over him again on Wednesday, just to make sure it is. But so far he has looked good after his last start".

Third start in less than three weeks
Very Kronos made a break in his return in November but has won two in a row after that. His most recent victory came last Saturday when the eight-year-old won easily in the gold division at Romme, which was outside the V75 card.
"He looked OK and he trotted a good time. The track was great considering the conditions, but he had to race with corks behind, and the less we need of that, the better it is for the horse. He runs in a bit then and isn't as good-gaited then".
He is racing back to back weeks now. How does his week leading up to the day of the race look?
"He hasn't done a whole lot after his last start, just jogged and the rest of the week will be pretty quiet for him too. You have to remember that he will make his third start in less than three weeks on Monday. Normally he is strong and he can race back to back but it's pretty tight between these three starts".

He normally never races badly
Very Kronos, with almost SEK 7 million in earnings was one of the horses in Elitloppet last year and he won both Sundsvall Open Trot and the Swedish Championship in 2021. The not always so stable trotter has lots of talent. How good is his form now?
"It's hard to say, actually. Normally he never races badly as long as he stays flat, but it's pretty hard to say how his form is today" Svante says.

The will to win is bigger then the fear to lose
Very Kronos won this very race two years ago. He then did it after having held up the lead from the inside post. This year, the horse starts from post position two behind the gate. A spot that many would call the best possible.
How pleased are you with the post position?
"It's good. At the same time, the closer to the inside he starts, the bigger the risk is of him making a break. But the will to win is bigger than the fear to lose and we'd rather have that post than a bad one. It would help a lot if he could get to the lead, there are other fast leavers in the race but Very likes when he gets to trot at the pylons".
Do you have anything planned for him after this start?
"No, I haven't. He now makes three starts in a short period of time and then we will see, we want to take it a bit slow and take care of the horse".
