V86 Super Days® (multi jackpot): "He just crushed them first up in a good time"
V86 Super Days® culminates on Wednesday with a multi jackpot.
There is at least SEK 23 million in the pool for all eight winners picked on the card that is split between Jägersro and Solvalla.
The Lars I Nilsson stable is in good form and has five starters on the V86® card.
"I think three of them have a chance to finish top three. Here's Johnny Sox was simply the best last time out when he crushed them first up in a good time," says Lars I Nilsson.
The Jägersro licensed trainer has his stable back in good form after a dip, as he says himself. He trains 30 horses, where most are younger horses.
"We have cleaned house a bit in the stable and are in the midst of a generation change. I now have more young horses than I have had in many years. We aim for the future," says Nilsson.
He is in the tractor, preparing the tracks as we get a hold of him for an interview. Next up is V86® on Wednesday, which is spiced up by a multi jackpot that ends Super Days. Lars I Nilsson has five starters on the V86 card and he says that three of them should have a chance to win. At the time of writing, none of them look to be heavily used, but if you are looking for a big payout, you might want to note what trainer Nilsson has to say about his starters.
"3 Random Tile (V86-1) won by seven lengths two starts ago and just stepped away from her opponents. She was great. In her most recent start, she was parked out and on her way to the lead but when she had cleared by half a length, the leader decided to not let her go. She did the same thing after 500 meters and our horse got tricked into being used twice. She's in good form and drew well here. She's in against some tough horses but you can not count her out. She will race barefoot all around and in an American sulky, no changes," says Lars I Nilsson.
"Back in top form — could have won three in a row"
In the fifth leg, a stayer race over three kilometers, Lars has two starters. Vanquish starts from post one on the starting distance and Here's Johnny Sox, who comes off and impressive win in his last start, starts with a twenty-meter handicap.
"1 Vanquish (V86-5) is a good horse who got a nice trip last time out and closed well to finish second. He has that start in his legs now and should be ready for a more aggressive drive. I think that Johnny will make up those twenty meters, but Vanquish is quick in the start and I would love to see him in the lead. Everything points at a good effort and he should be abele to finish top three".
"4 Here's Johnny Sox (V86-5) was simply the best in his last start and won in a very good way. He went first up and just crushed them in a good time. Before that, he was locked in twice in a row, so he could have won three in a row. Both these horses are making their first starts over three kilometers. You want to see them handle the distance, of course, but I think both will".
"It feels like he's back in top form and he has shown that in his most recent starts. Now that it's a volt start race, he will race in a regular style sulky. He's a horse who has raced in V75 earlier and has won there and he was great in the finals at Solvalla last Christmas. After that, we found a couple of minor issues on him and we had to wait for them to heal. It took some time and he had to train his way back into shape at the time when our horses weren't in very good form. But we have turned that around now and I think our horses are racing well again".
"I think these three horses all have the chance to finish top three. That means they can also win," says Lars I Nilsson, who lays low regarding his other two V86 starters, 4 Eton Degato (V86-1) and 10 High Hope Lee (V86-1).
